NLEX Corporation continues to champion sustainability and community development with two key initiatives: the second Tirescape Playground, created from upcycled tires for local children, and the enhanced PUNLA 2.1 program, providing mentoring and resources for women-led community enterprises.
“In building a sustainable community, true progress goes beyond physical infrastructure. It also means developing people and enterprises aligned with our long-term vision, as that is how lasting impact is made,” said NLEX President and General Manager Luis S. Reñon.

The Tirescape Playground transforms 300 recycled tires into colorful play structures on a 300-square-meter lot in Barangay Bamban, Hermosa, Bataan. The space will serve around 700 children, promoting physical activity, creativity, social interaction, and environmental awareness. The project was completed in partnership with Barangay Bamban officials, the LGU of Hermosa, SAVVICE Corporation, and transport groups like the Confederation of Truckers Association of the Philippines and the Inland Haulers and Truckers Association.
Meanwhile, PUNLA 2.1 has entered its final stage, offering tailored mentoring to women-led enterprises and equipping them with laptops to enhance digital and operational capabilities.
Both programs form part of NLEX’s broader sustainability initiatives, including ‘Road to Less Waste’ and ‘I Care for Strays’, reinforcing the company’s commitment to building inclusive, resilient, and environmentally conscious communities.
