The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has partnered with the City Government of Taguig and the Department of Education–Taguig and Pateros to develop new school and community facilities in Pamayanang Diego Silang, reinforcing investments in education and inclusive urban development.
A memorandum of agreement was signed on December 18, 2025, granting usufruct over a 1,110-square-meter parcel of land for the development, construction, and operation of facilities dedicated to public education and community use.
The property, currently under the supervision of the Senator Renato “Compañero” Cayetano Memorial Science and Technology High School, was initially intended for a sports complex. Under the new agreement, the site will be repurposed to accommodate school and community facilities that will directly benefit students and nearby residents.
BCDA President and CEO Joshua M. Bingcang said the partnership underscores BCDA’s role in advancing human capital development alongside infrastructure projects.
“BCDA has consistently supported quality education, including initiatives such as the National Academy of Sports in New Clark City. This partnership allows us to extend that commitment to Taguig by helping create accessible and inclusive learning spaces for the community,” Bingcang said.
Taguig City Mayor Maria Laarni L. Cayetano said the agreement strengthens the city’s education agenda while ensuring that public land delivers meaningful social benefits.
“This partnership advances our shared goal of making education a cornerstone of community development and ensuring that public spaces serve the people who need them most,” Cayetano said.
Also present during the signing were BCDA Chairperson Atty. Larry B. Paredes, DepEd Regional Superintendent Cynthia Ayles, and SRCCMSTHS OIC-Principal Arturo A. Tolentino.
The project adds to BCDA’s portfolio of education-supportive developments, aligning strategic land use with long-term social returns through close collaboration with local government units.
