Congressman Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. expressed his appreciation to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vivencio “Vince” Dizon for the release of ₱220 million in funding for the construction of daycare centers and computer laboratories in the First District of Pampanga.
Lazatin said the funds will support the construction of 68 Child Development Centers (CDCs) and 13 computer laboratories across the district, projects he identified as among his top priorities to improve learning facilities for young learners and public high school students.

He announced on January 8 that ₱150 million has been allocated for CDC construction, with ₱50 million each earmarked for Angeles City, Mabalacat City, and the Municipality of Magalang. An additional ₱70 million was allotted for computer laboratories, with ₱40 million designated for public high schools in Mabalacat City and ₱30 million for those in Magalang.
Lazatin noted that the funding marks a significant step toward fulfilling his commitment to rehabilitate all daycare centers and provide computer laboratories in public high schools across the First District. He earlier disclosed plans to seek larger allocations to cover the rehabilitation of 173 daycare centers and the construction of computer labs in 19 public high schools by 2026.
He added that funds for the remaining daycare centers not included in the current allocation will be proposed in the next national budget, reiterating that improving education facilities has remained a priority since his term as Angeles City mayor and continues under his leadership as district representative.
