A long-awaited drainage system is now under construction along First Street in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City, a busy stretch known for its cluster of food establishments and small businesses.

The project aims to address recurring flooding in the area, improve road safety, and maintain cleanliness, especially during heavy rains. Residents and business owners have long raised concerns over water buildup that disrupts daily operations and traffic flow.

Punong Barangay Joseph “PG” Ponce identified the drainage improvement as a priority program for the barangay. The project is being implemented with the support of the Angeles City Local Government Unit under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II.

The Committee on Roads and Infrastructure is closely monitoring the progress of the construction and providing full assistance to ensure that traffic management measures are in place while work is ongoing.

Local officials expressed optimism that once completed, the drainage system will provide a long-term solution to flooding concerns and further support economic activity in Barangay Balibago.
