NLEX Corporation, in partnership with the Bulacan Provincial Government, is ramping up efforts to boost the province’s disaster preparedness and resilience.
The collaboration, supported by the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF), featured a two-day workshop that brought together 70 participants, including policymakers, civil servants, and disaster response personnel. The sessions aimed to equip attendees with the knowledge and tools to develop responsive policies and legislation addressing the growing risks of natural disasters.

“Through this initiative, we are building stronger programs and strategies to reduce disaster risks, enhance readiness, and strengthen community resilience. This workshop empowers local governance, encourages proactive planning, and fosters collaboration among stakeholders,” said NLEX Corporation President and General Manager Luis S. Reñon.
Bulacan Vice Governor Alex Castro highlighted the relevance of the program in today’s climate. “In times of increasingly frequent and severe disasters, this workshop comes at the right moment. Thanks to NLEX, PDRF, and all participants. As public servants, continuous learning is crucial to improve the welfare of our communities,” he said.
Sangguniang Panlalawigan Secretary Ma. Perpetua R. Santos added, “A policy is only meaningful if it is implementable. Disaster preparedness ordinances must be crafted with technical experts from the start to ensure they are enforceable, feasible, and effective.”
A similar workshop was also held in the Municipality of Marilao, with local government officials and civil service staff joining the sessions.
NLEX Corporation is a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), the toll road arm of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC).
