Transportation Secretary Banoy Lopez formally received two buses donated by Vallacar Transit, Inc. for the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Friday.
Secretary Lopez said the donation will help the agency bring government services closer to the public, in line with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.. He also expressed gratitude to Vallacar Transit and its leadership for the support.
One bus will be used by the DOTr to provide free rides to stranded commuters during typhoons and other emergencies. The other unit will serve as an LTFRB Mobile Office Bus to deliver frontline services directly to public utility vehicle (PUV) operators and drivers.
Joining Secretary Lopez in receiving the donation were Transportation Undersecretary for Road Transport and Infrastructure Mark Steven Pastor, LTFRB Board Member Atty. Greg Pua Jr., and LTFRB Executive Director Loumer Bernabe.
