SBP holds Gilas Pilipinas Youth Boys tryouts

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) recently conducted the Gilas Pilipinas Youth Boys tryouts in Bacolor, Pampanga as part of its continuing grassroots development program for young basketball talents.

The activity was led by coaches Juno Sauler and Tonyboy Espinosa, with the support of SBP officials including CK Kanapi-Daniolco, assistant team manager of Gilas Pilipinas Youth, and Xander Gubat, SBP project manager.

Veteran coaches Norman Black and Beaujing Acot also attended the event to show their support for the youth basketball program.

SBP Central Luzon Regional Director Gil Cortez expressed appreciation to the local government of Bacolor for hosting the activity, particularly Mayor Eduardo “Diman” Datu, Vice Mayor Ron Dungca, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, and Municipal Administrator Neth Gonzales for their support and assistance.

Also present during the event was Pampanga Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, who was recognized for his continued support for youth athletes and the development of basketball in the province.

Cortez likewise thanked the players, parents, and participants who joined the tryouts, noting that their enthusiasm and dedication contribute to the continued growth of grassroots basketball in the country.
