The Yakap Bayan Program continues to support the rehabilitation and reintegration of individuals who have struggled with illegal drugs in Mabalacat City.

Mayor Geld Aquino led the Yakap Bayan Program and Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) 1st Quarter Meeting for 2026 held on March 9, reaffirming the city government’s commitment to help Persons Who Use Drugs (PWUDs) rebuild their lives.

In his message, Aquino emphasized his administration’s advocacy of providing individuals with opportunities to recover and start anew through the Balay Silangan Program being implemented in the city.

The mayor underscored the importance of collaboration among partner agencies, including the City Social Welfare and Development Office, City Health Office, the Philippine National Police, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful rehabilitation and reintegration of individuals into the community.

Aquino also shared that the city takes pride in being the first local government unit in Pampanga authorized to coordinate with the Bataan Treatment and Rehabilitation Center, a partnership expected to further strengthen Mabalacat’s rehabilitation initiatives.

Meanwhile, Vice Mayor Jun Castro expressed support for the program and assured implementers of the local government’s continued assistance for the Balay Silangan Program. He said the Sangguniang Panlungsod remains committed to backing the program’s needs.

Councilor Benny Jocson also conveyed his support, highlighting the importance of strengthening programs that provide individuals with opportunities to recover and return to society as responsible citizens.

Through the Yakap Bayan Program and other after-care initiatives of the City Social Welfare and Development Office, the Mabalacat City government under the leadership of Mayor Aquino continues to promote second chances and renewed hope for Mabalaqueños seeking positive change.
