The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) has begun implementing energy-saving measures in police offices across Central Luzon in support of the directive of Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., chief of the Philippine National Police, to promote responsible resource management within the organization.
Among the measures adopted are switching off non-essential lights and electrical equipment during lunch breaks and after office hours, setting air-conditioning units to 24°C, maximizing natural lighting and ventilation, and encouraging the use of virtual meetings when practical.
Fuel conservation practices are also being enforced, including limiting non-essential travel, consolidating official trips, avoiding unnecessary engine idling, and strengthening vehicle maintenance.
PRO 3 Regional Director Jess B. Mendez said the initiative aims to ensure the efficient use of government resources while maintaining uninterrupted police operations.
Mendez added that these practical steps will help the organization manage resources responsibly while sustaining operational readiness.
He assured the public that the measures will not affect police services, noting that PRO3 personnel will continue to remain on duty 24/7 to maintain peace and order throughout Central Luzon.
