The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) held its 18th Recyclables Collection Event on April 22 at the Mini Golf Course area, in line with the global celebration of Earth Day.
SBMA Chairman and Administrator Eduardo Jose L. Aliño led the activity, joining top donors from previous collection events during a recognition ceremony.

The event also featured the ceremonial relaunch of the “Closing the Loop” e-waste recycling initiative, with SBMA Senior Deputy Administrator for Regulatory Group and Deputy Administrator for Public Health Amethya P. Dela Llana taking part in the turnover of discarded electronic materials, assisted by the Subic Bay Recyclers Association and SBMA Ecology Center OIC Rossel L. Abuyo.
Meanwhile, SBMA officials welcomed members of the “Green Marshalls,” a group that will serve as environmental stewards during events across the freeport.
Residents, employees, and business locators also participated in the activity, turning over recyclable and hazardous waste for proper disposal—reinforcing SBMA’s ongoing push for environmental sustainability within the zone.
