New Clark City to host Inaugural Football Festival in May

Football players, coaches, and fans from across the country are set to converge as New Clark City Athletics Stadium hosts the inaugural New Clark City Football Festival from May 8 to 10, 2026.

The three-day event, presented by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) in partnership with Maxcom Sports Management Services, marks the first football festival to be staged in New Clark City. It aims to promote youth development, teamwork, and community engagement through sport.

The festival will feature both 11-a-side and 8-a-side formats. The 11-a-side matches will follow standard full-pitch rules for players aged 13 and above, while the 8-a-side games are designed for younger participants aged 9 to 12 to support early-stage football development.

As of April 29, 2026, 31 football clubs have already registered, reflecting strong participation from grassroots teams and youth programs nationwide. Interested teams may still secure remaining slots until May 5, 2026.

BCDA President and CEO Joshua M. Bingcang said the festival underscores efforts to position New Clark City as a premier hub for sports development and tourism, while providing young athletes opportunities to hone their skills.

Matches will be held across key facilities within the New Clark City complex, including the Athletics Stadium, warm-up track, and practice throwing areas. The Athletes’ Village will serve as the official accommodation for participants and officials.

The New Clark City Football Festival is open to the public with free admission, inviting families and football enthusiasts to watch emerging talent. Registration fees apply to participating teams.

The event also supports the sports development agenda of Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., focusing on strengthening grassroots programs, expanding access to quality facilities, and developing future national athletes, while boosting sports tourism and local economic activity in Tarlac.
