Motorists and commuters are advised to expect road closures and traffic rerouting in selected areas of Angeles City on June 9 and 10, 2026, in preparation for the Solemn Proclamation of the Holy Rosary Parish as a Minor Basilica.
The traffic management measures are intended to accommodate the anticipated influx of parishioners, devotees, and guests attending the historic religious event.
Road Closures
- June 9-10 (Tuesday-Wednesday): Sto. Entierro Street — from the corner of Sto. Rosario Street (Uncle John’s) to the corner of Miranda Street (Pamintuan Mansion/Landbank).
- June 9-10 (Tuesday-Wednesday): Nepomuceno Street — from Heuristix/Dychioco Dental to Avon/Angeles City Library.
- June 10 (Wednesday), 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon: Sto. Rosario Street — from the corner of Lakandula Street (Southstar Drug/Porac Bank) to the corner of Teresa Avenue (Dunkin Jenra).
One-Way Traffic Routes
- June 10 (Wednesday), 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon: Sto. Rosario Street — from the corner of Lakandula Street (Southstar Drug/Porac Bank) to the corner of St. Joseph Street (BPI).
- St. Joseph Street — from Holy Angel University (HAU) to Nepo/Newpoint Mall.
Authorities encourage the public to plan their trips accordingly and use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion during the two-day event.
The Solemn Proclamation marks a significant milestone for Holy Rosary Parish, locally known as Pisamban Maragul, as it officially receives its designation as a Minor Basilica.
