Lufthansa Technik Philippines has broken ground on its new maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility at Clark International Airport, marking another milestone in the development of the Clark AeroDistrict.
The facility, to be built on a 157,000-square-meter site, represents a three-digit-million-dollar investment and is expected to generate around 1,200 highly skilled jobs when operations begin in 2028.
The new hub will be the company’s second facility in the Philippines, complementing its existing operations at Ninoy Aquino International Airport. It will provide widebody aircraft maintenance services, including a paint shop and non-destructive testing workshops, while expanding support to Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 aircraft.
Luzon International Premiere Airport Development (LIPAD) said the investment strengthens Clark’s position as a growing aviation, logistics, and aerospace hub.
LIPAD Chairperson Josephine Gotianun Yap described the project as a strong vote of confidence in Clark, Filipino talent, and the country’s aviation industry, while LIPAD President and CEO Noel Manankil said the facility further advances the vision of the Clark AeroDistrict alongside other global aviation and logistics locators.
