MPTC promotes responsible driving through BiyaHero Road Safety Caravan

Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), together with NLEX Corporation and MPT South, strengthened its commitment to safer roads through the Mission Road Safety BiyaHero Caravan, a program designed to promote responsible driving and enhance road safety awareness among public transport operators.

Held at One Ayala in Makati City and Victory Plaza in Caloocan City, the caravan gathered 284 jeepney, UV Express, and bus drivers representing 42 transport groups and companies for a series of lectures, interactive activities, and practical learning sessions focused on safe driving practices.

“At MPTC, safety remains at the core of everything we do. Through programs like the BiyaHero Road Safety Caravan, we aim to further equip drivers with the knowledge they need to make safer decisions on the road,” said MPTC Chief Operations and Maintenance Officer West Dionisio.

The program highlighted the importance of discipline, patience, and awareness behind the wheel. Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) Regulation Division Chief Joz Carlos Ordillano discussed common traffic violations such as speeding, improper lane use, unsafe overtaking, distracted driving, tailgating, and overloading, emphasizing how everyday driving habits can affect the safety of motorists and commuters.

To make the learning experience more engaging, participants took part in driving simulator exercises, a drunk goggles challenge, and an interactive road safety quiz. Drivers also received free eye screenings and prescription eyeglasses, while Easytrip representatives provided assistance on RFID installation and account concerns.

The caravan was organized in partnership with the Toll Regulatory Board, Department of Health, Road Safety Division of the Provincial Government of Cavite, Public Safety and Traffic Management Department of Caloocan City, One Ayala, and Victory Plaza.

Transport operators welcomed the initiative, citing the practical lessons and interactive activities as valuable tools for improving road safety awareness among drivers.

Beyond the caravan, MPTC continues to advance its year-round Mission Road Safety campaign through seminars, community-based programs, and digital information drives across its expressway network, reinforcing its goal of fostering a culture of safety among road users throughout Luzon and Visayas.
