More than 1,300 students of Guillermo D. Mendoza National High School in Barangay Sta. Filomena will no longer have to endure shifting classes following the inauguration of a new school building funded by the Pampanga provincial government on Tuesday, June 16.
The inauguration and blessing of the facility were led by Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, Guagua Mayor Anthony Joseph Torres, Board Members Fritzie David-Dizon and Sajid Khan Eusoof, together with members of the Guagua Sangguniang Bayan, the Sta. Filomena Barangay Council, and school officials.

According to School Principal Ruvie Pallasigui, the new building addresses the school’s classroom shortage and provides a more conducive learning environment for students.
The Capitol allocated P8.5 million for the construction of the two-story, four-classroom building equipped with comfort rooms. Each classroom comes furnished with blackboards, chairs, tables, and wall fans, similar to other school facilities built by the provincial government.
In addition, the school’s administration and classroom buildings underwent renovation after the Capitol allotted another P3.4 million for roof maintenance and repainting.
Data from the Provincial Engineering Office showed that a total of 18 classrooms have been provided by the Pampanga provincial government to G.D. Mendoza National High School since 2010.
