PH pushes forward digital transformation

The Philippines is moving to further strengthen its digital infrastructure with a new partnership aimed at advancing satellite and connectivity technologies.

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Brightside Industries Group to study the development of advanced satellite and digital infrastructure at Morong Discovery Park in Bataan.

The proposed project will explore the establishment of a telecommunications gateway, free-space optics (FSO) manufacturing facilities, terminal base stations, data centers, and other supporting digital infrastructure within the BCDA-managed zone.

Once implemented, the facilities are expected to enhance digital connectivity, improve communications resilience, and support the country’s growing technological needs.

The initiative aligns with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s vision of a digitally connected Philippines, aimed at expanding access to affordable and reliable digital services while driving innovation-led economic growth.
