Delegates from ASEAN member states and partner institutions visited the Center for Kapampangan Studies (CKS) on June 23, 2026, as part of the ASEAN Dialogue on Cultural Heritage Protection, gaining insights into the center’s initiatives and best practices in preserving and promoting cultural heritage.
The delegation included representatives from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, the Philippines, and the ASEAN Secretariat. Among them were officials from various ministries and agencies responsible for culture, heritage, and arts development across the region.



Also joining the visit were representatives from UNESCO, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), the National Museum of the Philippines, the Bureau of Customs, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the Department of Justice (DOJ), the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and the Philippine National Police (PNP).
The delegates were welcomed by Center for Kapampangan Studies Director Myra P. Lopez, Protocol Officer Dr. Raymond Patterson, and Museum Curator Alex Castro.
Castro presented the institution’s programs, research projects, museum collections, and heritage conservation efforts. He also guided the visitors through the center’s exhibits, highlighting CKS’s role in safeguarding and promoting Kapampangan history, culture, and identity.
The cultural visit formed part of the ASEAN Dialogue’s continuing efforts to encourage the exchange of experiences, best practices, and collaborative strategies for protecting cultural heritage across Southeast Asia.
The activity was organized and hosted by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) under the ASEAN Dialogue on Cultural Heritage Protection.
