BCDA begins journey to 2,000 native trees

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has kicked off its 2026 tree-planting program by planting 223 Philippine native tree saplings under its Thousand Trees for One Clark initiative.

Led by OIC Senior Vice President for Conversion and Development Engr. Mark P. Torres, the first batch of BCDA volunteers conducted the tree-planting activity near Mt. Susung Dalaga in Barangay Aranguren, Capas, Tarlac.

The volunteers planted native species, including narra, molave, bani, banaba, tibig, and alagao, to help restore and enrich the area’s natural ecosystem.

The activity marks the beginning of BCDA’s goal to plant 2,000 native trees throughout July and August. Scheduled during the rainy season, the initiative is expected to improve the survival and growth of the newly planted saplings.

BCDA said the program reflects its continuing commitment to environmental sustainability while advancing the development of smart and future-ready communities.
