Converge ICT Solutions Inc. Co-Founder and CEO Dennis Anthony H. Uy expressed his gratitude to outgoing Republic of Korea Ambassador to the Philippines Lee Sang-hwa for his role in strengthening digital cooperation between the Philippines and South Korea.
In a Facebook post, Uy, who served as the Philippines’ Special Envoy to the Republic of Korea for Digital Transformation during Ambassador Lee’s tenure, credited the envoy for helping open opportunities for technology partnerships with South Korea’s leading firms, including Naver, KT, SK Telecom, Samsung, and LG CNS.
Uy said Ambassador Lee’s support helped advance key technology initiatives with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), bringing in significant grant support for the country’s digital modernization efforts.
“When President Marcos Jr. appointed me, the mandate was clear: bring home world-class technologies that we can apply to help the Philippines advance digitally,” Uy said.
He added that with the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI), partnerships with global technology leaders are crucial in helping the Philippines accelerate its digital transformation journey.
Uy described Ambassador Lee as a “true champion” of Philippine-Korean relations and thanked him for his leadership, collaboration, and friendship, saying his contributions to the country’s digital advancement will be felt for years to come.
