Angeles City officials heightened disaster preparedness as the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (ACDRRMC) held a Pre-Disaster Risk Assessment meeting on August 30 to assess the impacts of the Enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and Low Pressure Areas (LPAs).

The meeting, chaired by Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, reviewed the city’s disaster situation, including concerns involving rivers and waterways, bridges, fallen trees, landslides and soil erosion.

The council also assessed the readiness of personnel, rescue and evacuation equipment, transportation, relief goods, medical supplies and other logistical resources for possible emergency operations.

Continuous monitoring and inter-agency coordination were ordered as Angeles City remains under Red Alert Status, with authorities emphasizing timely response and public advisories to protect residents.
