The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Pampanga Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) team rescued and assisted 54 individuals during overnight operations in severely flooded areas of Barangay Lourdes, San Fernando, Pampanga.

From 9:10 p.m. on August 29 to 4:30 a.m. on August 30, rescuers conducted water search, rescue and evacuation operations despite hazardous conditions.

Of those assisted, 17 were evacuated to the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center, 27 to San Agustin Integrated School, while 10 from Dolores Junction were transported safely to their relatives’ residences.

The PRC reminded the public to call its Operations Center at 143 for emergency assistance or community support.
