A small patch of soil can grow more than vegetables—it can nurture healthier, more sustainable communities.

The Angeles City Agriculture Office brought its Gulayan sa Barangay program to Barangay Mining, bringing practical gardening knowledge and agricultural support closer to residents.

With the support of Mayor Carmelo “Jon” B. Lazatin II, the city government continues to promote community-based initiatives that encourage Angeleños to discover the possibilities of growing their own food at home and within their neighborhoods.

The program introduces residents to practical and manageable ways of gardening, showing that cultivating fresh vegetables does not require a wide plot of land. Even small spaces can be transformed into productive gardens with the right knowledge, care and commitment.

Beyond planting and harvesting, Gulayan sa Barangay promotes a culture of participation—encouraging residents to take an active role in food production while helping create greener and more resilient communities.

Through initiatives such as this, the city continues to bring agriculture closer to the people, one barangay garden at a time.
