A total of 3,149 farm workers, fish farm workers, fisherfolk, and members of irrigators’ associations in Pampanga received Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 3 (DSWD FO3).
The beneficiaries included 1,221 from Macabebe, 997 from Mexico and Sta. Ana, and 931 from Minalin, all affected by the recent calamity.
The payouts were conducted at the Pampanga State University Apalit Campus, Provincial Motorpool in Mexico, and Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center as part of the government’s efforts to provide immediate financial assistance to affected communities.
The provincial government, led by Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, supported the distribution, joined by 3rd District Board Member Lucky Labung, 4th District Board Member Dr. Kaye Naguit, Executive Assistant IV Angelina Blanco, PSWD Officer Fe Manarang, and PDRRM Officer Janica Yambao.
Fisherman Arny Suing of Consuelo expressed appreciation for the assistance, saying the cash aid would help affected workers recover and sustain their livelihoods.
The ECT program seeks to provide immediate financial support to individuals and families affected by disasters and help them resume their sources of income.
