CLARK FREEPORT – A 28-year-old male airport employee was arrested in a joint operation by the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) and the PNP Aviation Security Group (AVSEGROUP) for alleged involvement in illegal recruitment linked to a POGO job in Cambodia.
Initial investigation revealed that the victim applied online for a Customer Service Representative position through a POGO community page and was instructed to coordinate with the suspect, who facilitated travel arrangements. The scheme was later found to be fraudulent.
The suspect was apprehended on August 19 for alleged violation of Republic Act 9208, or the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003. He is currently detained at the CIAPS, AVSEU 3 Custodial Facility pending inquest resolution.
“We are all-in for the fight against human trafficking. We recognize no face when it comes to serving justice,” said PBGEN Jay R. Cumigad, Director of AVSEGROUP.
