Angeles City honors Kapampangan Poet Laureate Frank Guinto

Angeles City paid tribute to Francisco “Frank” Guinto, the Kapampangan Poet Laureate and a revered figure in Kapampangan poetry, recognizing his enduring contribution to literature, culture and the preservation of Kapampangan identity.

Through his poetry and writings, Guinto has helped preserve and pass on Amanung Sisuan, along with the history, traditions, culture and heritage of the Kapampangan people.

A native of Macabebe, Guinto dedicated much of his long career as a poet and writer to enriching and strengthening Kapampangan literature. His talent and works have reached beyond his hometown, becoming part of the shared literary heritage of Pampanga and its people.

The tribute highlighted Guinto’s body of work, talent and literary contributions, with the support of the Institution of Kapampangan Studies of Angeles University Foundation, Ing Akademyang Kapampangan Inc., and the City College of Angeles.

The Angeles City government continues to recognize individuals who serve as guardians and champions of the region’s arts, culture and traditions, emphasizing that a meaningful future is rooted in remembering and valuing the rich history and heritage of the past.

Guinto’s contribution to ‘Amanung Sisuan’ and his literary legacy will continue to live on through the generations of Kapampangan who treasure the language and culture he helped preserve.

Long live Tatang Frank Guinto. Long live Kapampangan poetry.
