Senior Angeleños took center stage as the Angeles City Elderly Week Celebration 2026 opened, honoring their life experiences, wisdom, strength, and continuing contributions to their families and community.
Mayor Carmelo “Jon” B. Lazatin II joined the opening program led by the Office of Senior Citizen Affairs (OSCA), together with senior citizens from across the city.
A highlight of the celebration was the recognition of 12 Angeleño centenarians, honoring their remarkable longevity and the stories and experiences they have shared with their families and communities.
In his message, Mayor Jon expressed appreciation for the senior citizens’ continuing contributions to the development of Angeles City. He emphasized that older residents are not only part of the city’s history but also continue to play an important role in guiding families and younger generations.
The mayor also reaffirmed the city government’s commitment to programs and services that address the needs of senior citizens and provide them with more opportunities to remain active, healthy, and engaged in the community.
Through Elderly Week, Angeles City celebrates its senior citizens and the lessons, memories, and contributions they continue to pass on to future generations.
