Angeles City, along with Lubao town, has been selected as a pilot area in Pampanga for the implementation of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office III’s Unified Package for Livelihood, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT) Program.

For its initial rollout, 314 household heads in Angeles City are targeted to receive financial assistance under the program, which seeks to provide immediate support to vulnerable individuals and families whose livelihoods have been affected by economic challenges, including the impact of the Middle East crisis.

The program is being implemented through the DSWD Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) Office-Pampanga in coordination with the Angeles City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO). Beneficiary verification, assessment, and payout for the first tranche are being conducted manually, while succeeding tranches are expected to be distributed through beneficiaries’ nominated e-wallet accounts.

The Angeles City government, under Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, continues to coordinate with national government agencies to bring social protection programs and immediate assistance closer to residents in need.

As a pilot area, Angeles City highlights the importance of national-local government coordination in ensuring that assistance reaches qualified beneficiaries in a faster, orderly, and secure manner.
