ANGELES CITY TO INAUGURATE PHASE 3 OF PUBLIC CEMETERY EXPANSION

ANGELES CITY – Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. is set to lead the blessing and inauguration of Phase 3 of the Angeles City Public Cemetery (ACPC) in Barangay Capaya on March 5, 2025.

The expansion underscores the city government’s commitment to enhancing public services and ensuring adequate burial facilities for residents.

The Phase 3 expansion will add 1,152 full-body adult niche slots, 960 bone niches, and 288 baby niches to the cemetery. With this addition, the total capacity of the public cemetery now stands at 12,518 under Mayor Lazatin’s administration, following the completion of Phases 1, 2, and 3.

Currently, the cemetery includes 7,192 full-body niches (6,380 for adults and 812 for children), 3,726 bone niches, and 1,600 columbarium slots, each capable of holding two to three urns depending on size.

Mayor Lazatin emphasized that the expansion will provide sufficient space for burials until 2030, ensuring accessible and dignified services for Angeleños.

“The Phase 3 expansion of the public cemetery is an investment in the future, ensuring that we continue to provide essential services for our community,” Lazatin said.

Previously, the city government inaugurated Phase 1 of the expansion on September 5, 2024, adding 2,748 niches to the ACPC. In January 2025, Phase 2 was completed, covering an 11,510-square-meter area, with an additional 800 columbarium slots and 2,400 bone niches, alongside future plans for 3,360 additional bone niches.
