Angeles Clears Abacan River easement

The Angeles City Government conducted river easement clearing and hazard mitigation operations along the Abacan River in Barangays Pampang and Ninoy Aquino on July 2 as part of its flood prevention and disaster preparedness efforts.

The operation was led by the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO) with the assistance of the Angeles City Traffic Development Office (ACTDO).

A total of five houses built within the river easement were removed, including three in Barangay Pampang and two in Barangay Ninoy Aquino.

City officials said the clearing aims to remove structures located in danger zones, reduce the risk of flooding and riverbank erosion, and keep waterways free from obstructions during heavy rains.

The local government also urged residents to support disaster preparedness initiatives and help keep waterways clear to promote safer and more resilient communities.
