BCDA, K-Water ink deal for smart village in New Clark City

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has partnered with South Korea’s K-Water to explore the development of a smart village in New Clark City, aimed at advancing sustainable and climate-resilient urban living in the country.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the two parties to study the integration of smart technologies and eco-friendly systems in the planned community, drawing inspiration from South Korea’s Busan Eco Delta Smart Village.

The initiative seeks to incorporate advanced water management systems, environmental technologies, and digital solutions designed to support sustainable urban development.

The agreement was signed by BCDA Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Atty. Gisela Z. Kalalo and K-Water President and CEO Seog Dae Yun, and witnessed by BCDA Chairperson Atty. Hilario B. Paredes and K-Water Vice President Yong Deok Cho.

Officials said the partnership supports the government’s broader push for resilient and future-ready infrastructure under ongoing national development programs.
