Cebu Pacific highlighted the importance of smart packing and compliance with hand-carry baggage rules through a fun-filled “BOARDING PASSers Recognition Ceremony” for passengers at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 on September 4.
Passengers of flight 5J 971 bound for Davao were recognized after their hand-carry items successfully fit the airline’s improved baggage sizer. They received certificates and “CEBlay” tokens, while Cebu Pacific mascot Cebie encouraged them to serve as model travelers.
The initiative underscored how properly sized and stowed baggage can help improve cabin safety, maximize overhead-bin space, reduce boarding delays and support on-time departures.
Cebu Pacific Vice President for Customer Service Operations Lei Apostol said the airline wanted to recognize passengers who follow baggage guidelines and demonstrate that compliance can contribute to a smoother travel experience for everyone.
Passengers may bring two free cabin items: one hand-carry item for the overhead bin and one personal item that fits under the seat. The hand-carry item must not exceed 56 cm × 36 cm × 23 cm, while the personal item must not exceed 20 cm × 20 cm × 35 cm.
The airline advised passengers to check their baggage allowance before traveling and consider pre-purchasing additional checked baggage when needed.
