The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), with the support of local responders and community members, recovered the remains of a missing father and his daughter in Botolan, Zambales.
Initial investigation showed that the two were traveling home aboard a carabao-drawn cart on September 1 when a strong, fast-flowing current from the upland area overturned the cart and swept them downstream.
The father was recovered on September 2, followed by his daughter on September 3. Both were found along the Botolan shoreline.
Their remains were positively identified by family members and turned over for appropriate arrangements.
The PCG expressed its condolences to the bereaved family and thanked local responders and residents who assisted in the search and recovery efforts.
