Converge powers up digital infrastructure push

Fiber broadband and technology solutions provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. (PSE: CNVRG), through its digital infrastructure arm Pentagon Digital Global Corp., has secured a Green Lane Certificate of Endorsement from the Department of Trade and Industry–Board of Investments (DTI-BOI) for its flagship Angeles Data Center in Pampanga.

The 12-megawatt facility has been formally classified as a Strategic Investment under Executive Order No. 18, allowing faster regulatory clearances and supporting Converge’s multibillion-peso expansion into data center infrastructure, enterprise cloud computing, and carrier-neutral co-location.

The designation places the Angeles Data Center under the BOI’s Strategic Investment Priority Plan, which covers high-impact infrastructure projects. It provides dedicated investment facilitation, coordinated multi-agency permit processing, and key account management to help shorten project timelines.

“Securing Green Lane status for our Angeles Data Center underscores the vital role digital infrastructure plays in nation-building,” Converge CEO and co-founder Dennis Anthony H. Uy said.

Uy said the designation would help the company deploy resilient, world-class computing capacity faster while strengthening the digital foundation needed to support the country’s growing digital economy.

Located in Angeles City, Pampanga, the data center is integrated into Converge’s nationwide fiber-optic backbone and is designed to meet increasing enterprise demand for high-density computing, cloud workloads, and regional data storage.

DTI Undersecretary and BOI Managing Head Dr. Ceferino Rodolfo Jr. said the investment aligns with national industrial priorities by establishing infrastructure essential to long-term economic resilience.

DTI Director and BOI Investments Assistance Center Head Ernesto De Los Reyes said the Green Lane initiative provides investors with greater predictability and ease of doing business, noting that it now covers ₱6.36 trillion in strategic developments.

Converge CFO Robert Leo Yu, meanwhile, credited collaboration with government agencies such as the DTI-BOI for helping bring strategic investments to fruition.

The company said the streamlined permitting and coordinated government support would help accelerate the data center’s operational deployment while contributing to the country’s digital transformation and long-term economic growth.
