DA, partner agencies inspect Pampanga market over rice price compliance

The Department of Agriculture (DA), together with partner agencies, conducted a follow-up inspection at Pampang Public Market and nearby rice retailers in Angeles City, Pampanga on June 11, 2026 to ensure compliance with government price regulations.

Led by DA Undersecretary for Agro-Marine Industrial Systems Arrey Perez and DA Regional Field Office 3 officials, the inspection focused on nine rice retailers previously issued Notices of Violation for non-compliance with Executive Order No. 118, Series of 2026, which sets a ₱50 per kilo price cap for imported premium rice.

Of the nine retailers inspected, five received new Notices of Violation, along with one additional retailer, for continued violations of DA and DTI regulations.

Authorities cited infractions including improper price postings, mislabeling of rice products, and failure to provide accurate product information to consumers.

The operation was supported by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI), Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (DA-AMAD), and the Philippine National Police–Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG).

The DA said the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to enforce price ceilings, protect consumers, and ensure the stable supply of affordable rice in the market.
