DOST offers free 3D printing for innovators

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region III is helping students, researchers, innovators, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) transform their ideas into working prototypes through the free 3D printing services of its Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMCen) Central Luzon.

AMCen Central Luzon Focal Person Ivan Fritzie Sagmit said the facility serves as a hub for additive manufacturing, providing support for research, product development, and technological innovation.

The center primarily caters to students working on academic projects and theses, as well as researchers, innovators, and MSMEs. It also assists businesses in reproducing obsolete machine parts through 3D scanning and additive manufacturing, helping reduce equipment repair costs.

AMCen currently offers Fused Filament Fabrication and Vat Photopolymerization technologies and accepts consultations for science, technology, and innovation projects. Its services are limited to research and prototyping and do not cover commercial production.

DOST said the initiative supports the government’s goal of advancing science, technology, and innovation while making advanced manufacturing more accessible to Filipinos.
