Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian, together with DSWD Regional Director Venus Rebuldela, Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Pampanga Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, Lubao Mayor Esmie Pineda, Vice Mayor Jay Montemayor, and Councilor Jay Victorino, personally visited residents displaced by flooding in Lubao.

The officials checked on evacuees affected by flooding brought by the enhanced Southwest Monsoon or Habagat and assessed their immediate needs.

Rosario Montemayor, an evacuee from Barangay Sto. Cristo, expressed gratitude for the assistance being extended to displaced families.

At the PAGCOR Multi-Purpose Evacuation Center in Barangay Sta. Catalina, 44 families or 178 residents are temporarily staying, including five families whose homes were destroyed.

Meanwhile, 34 families or 117 individuals at the nearby Provincial Evacuation Center received family food packs from the DSWD as part of ongoing relief efforts.
