Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian visited Aeta families temporarily staying at the Porac Municipal Gym after being affected by flooding and landslides brought by the intensified Southwest Monsoon or Habagat.

The visit aimed to assess the evacuees’ condition and immediate needs, in line with efforts to ensure the welfare of families affected by the weather disturbance.

Gatchalian assured the Aeta community that the DSWD is prepared to provide additional assistance to help them recover. The agency also distributed hot meals prepared through its Mobile Kitchen.

Porac Mayor Jing Capil, Vice Mayor Jen Capil, Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative Norman King, and other Pampanga officials joined the visit.
