DSWD reaffirms support for trafficking survivors

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting and assisting survivors of human trafficking as the country observes National Anti-Trafficking Awareness Month 2026.

The agency said it will continue strengthening its Recovery and Reintegration Program for Trafficked Persons, which provides psychosocial support, temporary shelter, livelihood and educational assistance, and other services to help survivors rebuild their lives.

In 2025, the DSWD handled 2,476 trafficking cases, with 1,200 survivors successfully reunited with their families and communities after social worker assessment.
