Globe, KDDI explore new growth opportunities

Globe and Japan-based telecommunications and digital services company KDDI Corporation have entered into a strategic partnership to explore growth opportunities in mobile services and transform retail experiences in the Philippines.

The collaboration aims to create more seamless, digital-first, and customer-focused experiences as Globe adapts to changing consumer behavior and increasing digital adoption.

As an initial step, the companies are exploring ways to expand Globe’s retail footprint and reinvent its stores as spaces where customers can receive personalized guidance, trusted support, and access to integrated digital services.

Globe President and CEO Carl Cruz said the partnership will allow the company to learn from KDDI’s advanced telecommunications and digital ecosystem while contributing its understanding of Filipino consumers.

The companies will also explore how KDDI’s experience in connecting telecommunications with financial, entertainment, lifestyle, and other digital services can complement Globe’s market reach and customer base of around 67 million.

The partnership supports Globe’s broader goal of moving beyond connectivity and building a more integrated, inclusive, and customer-centered digital ecosystem in the Philippines.
