Globe strengthens mobile leadership with 5G expansion, hyperpersonalization

Globe sustained its leadership in the mobile sector as it posted continued growth in mobile data usage, expanded its 5G network, and advanced its hyperpersonalization strategy to meet the evolving digital needs of Filipinos.

During the first quarter of 2026, Globe deployed 408 new 5G sites, increasing its outdoor 5G population coverage to over 98 percent in Metro Manila and key cities in the Visayas and Mindanao.

Powering today’s digital lifestyles
Mobile data continued to drive Globe’s business, accounting for 89 percent of total mobile service revenues, up from 85 percent a year ago.

The company’s mobile business generated P30 billion in first-quarter revenues, a 6 percent increase year-on-year, while its subscriber base grew to about 67 million.

Mobile data revenues also rose 11 percent, fueled by higher consumption of video streaming, social media, gaming, digital payments, and other online services. Data traffic increased 18 percent, with average monthly usage reaching 16 GB per subscriber.

More than 39 million Globe customers actively use mobile data services, while the GlobeOne app now averages 8 million monthly users.

Globe said it continues to invest in network expansion and digital innovation to improve customer experience and deliver more personalized products and services.

“Our priority is to execute on our plans well. We will deliver better customer experience through our digital platforms, and serve products that are relevant through hyperpersonalization,” said Globe Chief Commercial Officer Darius Delgado.

The company added that it will continue expanding its 5G network, deepen its fiber footprint, and leverage digital technologies to better serve customers as demand for connectivity continues to grow.
