Healing closer to home: New Clark hospital brings modern, accessible healthcare to Kapampangans

Access to quality and affordable healthcare is now closer to Kapampangans with the opening of the Pampanga Provincial Hospital–Clark (PPH-Clark), a modern government facility inside the Clark Freeport Zone designed to provide preventive, specialized, and low-cost medical services.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the inauguration of the three-storey Level II hospital located at Changi Gateway in Clark Global City on April 29, 2026. It is the first government hospital established within Clark and is expected to serve more than 151,500 workers, locators, investors, and nearby residents.

The facility is seen as a major boost to healthcare access in one of Central Luzon’s fastest-growing economic hubs.

Hospital for indigent and working Kapampangans
Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda said the hospital was primarily built for indigent patients and minimum wage earners who often struggle with high healthcare costs, especially those working inside Clark.

“Ipinatayo natin ito para sa mga mahihirap na hindi kayang bayaran ‘yung private hospital at professional’s fee. Ang ospital na ito talaga, majority, 70 percent para sa mga mahihirap,” Pineda said.

She added that the provincial government will continue its zero-balance billing policy for qualified patients to ensure that indigent families can access medical services without financial burden.

Strong national government support
The P601.74-million facility was funded through the Provincial Government of Pampanga, Department of Health, and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, with infrastructure support from the Bases Conversion and Development Authority.

The Office of the President also provided about P85 million worth of medical equipment, alongside donations from partner agencies, while the provincial government invested over P115 million for hospital systems and equipment.

Pineda thanked President Marcos Jr. for the national government’s support in completing and equipping the hospital, noting that the project was achieved without incurring debt through intergovernmental cooperation.

Modern, preventive healthcare services
PPH-Clark is equipped with modern medical facilities, including CT scan, X-ray, endoscopy, and mammogram machines. It offers services such as ICU, NICU, OB-GYNE, radiology, laboratory, cardiovascular, pulmonary, dental, and dietary care.

The hospital, which has a 143-bed capacity, is also applying for PhilHealth YAKAP accreditation and is designed to provide both treatment and preventive healthcare services, with a focus on early disease detection.

Pineda said the facility aims to reduce serious illnesses through early diagnosis and regular screening programs.

Plans are also underway to expand specialized services, including a catheterization laboratory for heart procedures such as angiogram and angioplasty.

Relief for patients
Patients expressed gratitude for the new facility, citing financial relief and improved access to healthcare services.

Residents said the hospital is a major help for indigent patients who cannot afford private hospital treatment, especially for long-term illnesses requiring continuous care and medication.

Once fully operational, PPH-Clark is expected to strengthen healthcare delivery in Central Luzon and provide more Kapampangans with dignified, accessible, and affordable medical care.
