A Kapampangan multimedia journalist has earned statewide recognition in the United States after winning Best News Piece at the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters (WAB) annual awards.
Tanisha Ephrimae M. Bucad was honored for her feature on the “Parkinson’s Free Boxing Gym,” a story that highlighted themes of determination, resilience, and community among individuals living with Parkinson’s disease. The feature followed participants who regularly engage in boxing exercises designed to help manage symptoms and improve their quality of life.
Remarkably, Bucad produced the award-winning piece just months into her broadcasting career and during her second month working with Your Wyoming Link. Now six months into her professional journey, the recognition places her work among the top television news stories across Wyoming.
The Wyoming Association of Broadcasters represents around 95 percent of radio and television stations in the state and recognizes excellence in journalism, storytelling, and public service broadcasting through its annual awards program. The event gathers broadcasters statewide to honor outstanding work and highlight the role of local media in serving communities.
In this year’s ceremony, Your Wyoming Link also received multiple honors, including Best Newscast and Best Use of Digital Media, underscoring its newsroom excellence across television and digital platforms.
Bucad, originally from Arayat, Pampanga, Philippines, joined the station in December 2025 as a multimedia journalist producing content for TV, online, and social media. Her latest recognition marks both a personal milestone and a testament to impactful storytelling that resonates across communities.
