Landslide kills 2 in Subic

Two people were killed and two others injured after a landslide caused a slope protection structure to collapse at the Tipo High-Tech Park along Tipo Road near the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) in the Subic Bay Freeport on August 29, 2026.

The victims were identified as Feng Jiahan, 26, a Chinese national and Fubong Company worker, and Ramos Ernesto Jr. Palomo, 47, a Filipino truck driver of AM-SAR Trucking. Both were declared dead on arrival at nearby hospitals.

The two survivors were identified as Rommel Adion, an AM-SAR Trucking helper who sustained a suspected fracture from the waist down, and Jay Jomar Azuela, 27, an MSK driver who suffered multiple abrasions.

According to authorities, the four were in the area for work-related activities when the slope protection suddenly collapsed around 12:30 p.m. They were immediately rescued and brought to nearby hospitals for medical attention.
