The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is providing a free 15-hour Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) to 3,000 beneficiaries nationwide as a birthday initiative of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
The program is expected to save each beneficiary around P1,500 to P2,000 in course fees and forms part of the administration’s efforts to bring government services closer to Filipinos.
Transportation Secretary Banoy Lopez urged participants to take the opportunity seriously and become responsible and defensive motorists.
“The President wants to share his birthday to all of you,” Lopez said during the TDC session at SM City Tuguegarao, emphasizing the government’s goal of making services more accessible to the public.
Simultaneous free TDC sessions were also held in Palawan and other parts of the country.
The TDC is an LTO requirement for those applying for a student permit, covering traffic laws, rules and signs, road safety, and driver responsibilities.
