The Mayors for Good Governance (M4GG) reaffirmed its commitment to advancing inclusive and sustainable rural development as it joined the observance of World Rural Development Day.
In a statement, M4GG underscored the vital role of rural communities in ensuring the country’s food security and strengthening local economies, while recognizing the continuing challenges they face, including inadequate infrastructure and limited access to basic services.
The group emphasized that inclusive growth can only be achieved through honest and accountable governance. It urged local leaders to continue implementing programs that promote sustainable agriculture, improve access to education, and create livelihood opportunities to uplift the quality of life in municipalities and provinces.
M4GG also called on public officials to remain committed to transparent and responsive governance to ensure that no community is left behind in the country’s development.
