Mabalacat secures DepEd fund for schools rehab

The Mabalacat City government has secured funding from the Department of Education (DepEd) for the rehabilitation of 10 school buildings following sustained coordination and negotiations led by Mayor Atty. Geld Aquino.

Aquino formally signed a Supplemental Memorandum of Agreement with the DepEd on August 4 in Makati City, joined by Undersecretary Peter Irving Corvera and Assistant Secretary Aurelio Paulo Bartolome.

The agreement follows Aquino’s meeting with DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara in February, where he sought additional support for classrooms and school facilities in the city.

Under the agreement, the Mabalacat City government will undertake the rehabilitation of the 10 school buildings using funds allocated by the DepEd. The project is expected to improve public school facilities and provide students with safer and better learning environments.

Aquino reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritizing education and strengthening partnerships with the national government to bring more programs and projects benefiting students and the quality of education in Mabalacat City.
