Malolos Flyover historical landmark unveiled

Former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo joined the City Government of Malolos in unveiling a historical marker at the Malolos Flyover, recognizing its significance in the city’s development and its continued service to the people of Bulacan.

Serving as Guest of Honor during the ceremony, Arroyo was recognized by city officials and residents for her role in the realization of the project in 2004 under the President’s Bridge Program.

Built by the Department of Public Works and Highways, the Malolos Flyover was constructed and opened to traffic in just 60 days, from March 8 to May 8, 2004. It became the country’s first permanent steel flyover.

The landmark recently underwent rehabilitation works, including repainting, landscaping enhancements, and the installation of aesthetic lighting, further improving its appearance and functionality as a key gateway in the City of Malolos.
