Mayor Geld distributes knapsack sprayers to local farmers

Mayor Geld Aquino led the distribution of 70 units of knapsack sprayers to local farmers as part of the continuing efforts of the Mabalacat City government to strengthen and support the agriculture sector.

According to the city government, the distribution aims to help farmers improve the efficiency of applying pesticides and fertilizers to their crops, ultimately boosting agricultural productivity and harvest yields.

At the same time, the Mabalacat City Agriculture Office under the leadership of Rem Magtubo-Donato continues to implement various agricultural initiatives, including the construction of five solar-powered irrigation system projects in partnership with Acciona.

The irrigation projects are being developed in the areas of Sapang Biabas, Atlu Bola, Mawaque, Duquit, and Dapdap, with each unit expected to provide irrigation support to around three to five hectares of farmland.

The city government also continues the distribution of 1,060 bags of certified rice seeds and various foliar fertilizers to registered farmers as part of efforts to increase crop yield and agricultural production.

Meanwhile, the payout for the Presidential Assistance for Farmers and Fisherfolk is scheduled on May 26, 2026, where around 360 beneficiaries are expected to receive financial assistance.

The distribution of organic fertilizers in partnership with Bounty Cares Foundation and financial aid for registered farmers through the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office also remains ongoing.

Mayor Geld assured farmers that the local government will continue implementing programs aimed at improving the livelihood of Mabalaqueñian farmers and strengthening the city’s agricultural sector.
