Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II provided updates on recovery efforts, infrastructure projects, economic growth, and governance initiatives during the Pampanga Press Club’s News@Hues Media Forum held June 16 at Park Inn by Radisson Clark.
Mayor Jon discussed the city government’s response following the recent building collapse incident, emphasizing continuous operations, coordination with affected communities, and assistance for victims and nearby residents. He stressed the importance of maintaining a presence on the ground to ensure timely decisions and effective response measures.
The mayor also highlighted the value of collaboration among the executive and legislative branches, barangay officials, youth groups, Indigenous Peoples, and other stakeholders in advancing the city’s development goals.
He cited Angeles City’s continued economic growth, noting its recognition as a leading travel destination and ongoing investments in infrastructure and business expansion. Lazatin assured investors of the city’s commitment to ease of doing business while promoting employment opportunities for Angeleños.
Updates were likewise shared on major infrastructure and environmental projects, including the Abacan Dike Road development, drainage improvements, road construction, and tree maintenance programs.
Mayor Jon also expressed gratitude to responders, volunteers, and partner organizations that assisted in recent emergency operations, describing them as modern-day heroes.
