The 2-kilometer NLEX-C5 Northlink section connecting Mindanao Avenue to Quirino Highway is now 96% complete, promising faster and more convenient travel for motorists from North and Central Luzon and western Metro Manila.
The elevated expressway will provide a direct alternative to Mindanao Avenue and is expected to serve around 11,000 vehicles daily once operational. It will run 24/7 and accommodate all vehicle classes.
Remaining works include installing concrete barriers and expansion joints, completing the eastbound and westbound Quirino Highway ramps, and finishing other civil works.
The segment will feature CCTV, speed management systems, RFID toll collection technology, roadway lighting, traffic signs, and safety barriers.
NLEX President and General Manager Luis S. Reñon said the project aims to help motorists save time and travel costs through improved road connectivity and more efficient routes.
The section forms part of the 11.3-kilometer NLEX-C5 Northlink project, which will extend the expressway from Mindanao Avenue to C5/C.P. Garcia near Katipunan Avenue, strengthening connections between Metro Manila and Central and North Luzon.
